DeltaV Explorer and Control Studio Error after a Bulk Edit

Hi all,

For the purposes of analysis and rationalization of alarms configured in a database, I executed the export via BulkEdit of Module Alarms parameters, during the export there was a crash and it was not possible to close the DV explorer correctly. After closing the application by the task manager and restarting the station (professional) it is not possible to open neither deltav explorer or control studio, it presents the error "no more threads can be created in the system.

Any solution?

  • Have you tried rebooting the Professional Plus? Or checking in Database Administration whether there are failed database connections?
  • "no more threads" does not mean anything to me. The Database has a limit on number of "connections", and each session of Control Studio, Explorer and other applications like AMS and OPC servers make those connections.

Rebooting the Professional Plus would wipe all these and if that were the problem, certainly correct it. Before rebooting, checking the database connections as Cedric mentions would at least confirm if the database has a maximum of connections, which you could remove manually without rebooting the pro plus.

If it is not the database connections, then I would suggest you log a call with the GSC to investigate the issue.
