DV_PRO+ STATION

Dear Experts

We are using the DV 10.3 system. Suddenly our pro+ station windows has crashed and we have to reinstall windows and DV software.We have recovered the database with the following sequence:

1. Open "Database Administration" and select "Create New Database".

2. At the first window give the database a name and select Next

3. In the next window  create a new database from an existing export file , find the recent created (.FHX) file and create the database.

4. Once i have successfully done so, go to "Set Active Database" and "Change" with the just created database.

But my question is if i change 'active database' then it will disrupt synchronisation between online controllers and DB and for restoring this synchronisation i have to full download all controllers in deltaV system.Now our plant is running condition and full download of controllers is not possible at any cost.So please guide me how can i take professional plus station in deltaV control system without taking shutdown of our plant.

  As other have said in the forum, cases like this, call GSC.
  
  Would you happen to have a recent copy of <DvData>\PowerUp folder from DV_PRO+? Also, how recent is your FHX backup? If you have recent backups for both, your restore will work fine, thus say,
  - Copy PowerUp from backup to <DvData>\PowerUp
  - If you have database backup, then do a database Restore using DeltaV Database Administration, this is the fastest to recover. Otherwise, import FHX.
  
  By the way, on most cases, DV_PRO+ is not needed during normal operation except for OPC browsing. So, as an alternative, run the plant until it is safe to do download.

  Hi.
  I strongly recommend you to call GSC to help you.
  Lun Raznik gave you a nice shortcut to recovery your online DB. That requires. Up to date FHX and Powerup directory. ( try to get this folder back from crashed p+)
  
  As also said P+ is not required for normal operation, but whitout powerup restore, you will not be able to perform any partial download.
  
  For the future I strongly recommend you to contact you Emerson representative to order DeltaV backup and recovery solution , which allow daily automatic backup ,but also a fast and easy way to restore.
