Setting up separate shelved and out-of-service alarm lists and making out-of-service alarm list to automatically populate

I found an old Emerson Exchange presentation to guide me in "Setting up separate shelved and out-of-service alarm lists",  Session 3-4922, it is a good guide to setting this up.  However, I would like to obtain the a more detailed presentation as there seems to be some important steps missing.
One of my objectives is that, now that I have separate display for out-of-service alarms, how do I make the display to list the OOS control points without having to modify the filter every time the page is "opened"?
Second, on slide 17, I cannot find the "DeltaV Alarm Summary Configuration" menus so that I can take advantage of the features in this menu/ display.  In version 14.3, the only menu I can find is the "Alarm Summary Filters".
And last, but not least, is there more details in the Session 3-4922 pdf that would guide me through getting the Alarm Suppress configuration to UnSupress the alarms every 12 hours than what is in the pdf document I have found, which the "Introduction" pages states that slides were eliminated from the session to cover the material in the allotted time for the presentation?
OR, is this something GSC is capable of guiding me through the few technical items that may not be covered in the presentation?

It is definitely a good guide.  After this, my next plan is to "Create a list of Active Interlocks" and "List of Bypassed Interlocks"

Thanks,

  • First let's make sure that the session is the same me and others might look at because multiple Exchange years might have the same session number. The title was "How to apply Configured DeltaV Alarm Management Solutions"?

Are you trying to do this in Operate or Live? This presentation was almost assuredly created before Live was released in 14.3 Feature Pack 1.

    A1. Using DeltaV Operate.
A2. Yes that is it "How to apply Configured DeltaV Alarm Management Solutions". I found this document via google search. When I search for it in EE365, the search engine finds it but I do not have the privilege to download it to see if there are more details.
In summary, though, I have overcome the questions I had other than trying to get a full version of the presentation that was not reduced to allow for the allowed time for the presentation.

You need to have attended the conference it was given to be able to download the presentation. Maybe someone from your company attended and they can download?

If you have issues doing something that you want to do you can just post here and the community will help give you suggestions on the direction.

    Excellent!
So now that I have "AlarmSuppress" display and "AlarmOOS" display, I realized both of these displays use the same NameSet. Is it possible, without a lot of work/ coding/ programming in the AlarmOOS diplay, to have AlarmOOS display to use a new NameSet (seperate from AlarmSuppress)?
  • In reply to RMartinez_T:

Are you referring to the named set for the suppression reason?

If so, this is a single suppression reason for both OOS and OPSUP so it can't be any different.
