OPC Communication issue with GE Bentle (Vibration monitoring system)

Hi ,

I am facing issue to connect GE System OPC Client to Delta-V OPC Server.

My Workaround.

Installed OPC Remote in OPC Client, DeltavAdmin account got created, Logged in that user and checked Value in OPCWatchit, Connection was successful and Value started updating in OPCWatchit.

Further Created new OPC User in DeltaV Database, Downloaded setup data to OPC Server and Created Local Windows OPC User in OPC Server.

Did the DCOM Settings Added OPC User in Launching and Access permission of FRSOPCDV in Dcomcnfg.

Restarted OPC Server.

Now Tried to Browse OPC Server from Matrikon in OPC Client Machine, I could able to connect to OPC.Deltav.1 further when I try to Browse Tags , it used to throw error, Error Code is 0x80070005 ,

Checked this error code in KBA, found below answer, But I Double checked the Login Passwords in OPC Client, OPC Server and Delta-V, Everything looks Ok.

General access denied error): If OPCPing works, make sure the user logged in to the client machine has a valid DeltaV account. If the client is run as a service configured with a specific user, make sure that user also has a valid DeltaV account.

  • Have you tried downloading setup data on the PRO+. It is worth doing a setup data download on the PRO+ since the user you created in DeltaV needs to be updated on the PRO+.

The error code 0x80070005 is usually an access denied error. Check the access privileges of the DeltaV user that you created. You did not mention if the new user can browse successfully using OPCWatchit on a DeltaV machine and on the non-DeltaV OPC client machine.

    HI Neil,
Thanks for the reply, done few corrections which helped use to reach the next stage.
Unknowingly in OPC Client machine in Dcomcnfg we had Kept Deltav OPC DA component in to This user with DeltaVadmin user to start Application, Now kept to Launching user, It started working
and one more thing, Now we are receiving bad communication failure status Matricon When we browse OPC.Deltav.1 from Localhost (OPC Client), But If Try to Browse Localhost from OPCwatchit it is working fine. We are head to Check that, please add some suggestions.

    Hello Satishbabu,

In case the OS firewall is enabled on the non-DeltaV machine then disable it and see if it works. In case it works then you may need to either disable the firewall or use Matrikon OPC Tunneler to route all OPC communication to defined ports.

Is your OPC server (DeltaV machine) a redundant application station? I think we only use Localhost when communicating to a redundant OPC server.

Have you tried changing the server name from Localhost to the name of the OPC server? This is the recommended way for a simplex OPC server.

Have you tried typing a valid path on the Matrikon client? In case this works then this could mean that the issue is the browser functionality and concentrate on it.

You may want to check if there is a software update for the Matrikon.
