DeltaV Electronic Marshalling now includes native DO Solenoid Valve CHARMs with the ASCO 580 CHARM node

Solenoid valves can now be integrated into DeltaV without the need to deploy another communication protocol such as Profibus. Now the ASCO 580 CHARM node communicated directly to the CIOC like any other CHARM.

See video below and Electronic Marshalling PDS for more information.  Click here for more information about the ASCO 580 CHARM node.

  • What CHARM numbers do the valves occupy? Do they start at 96 and work backwards? Or start at the next available baseplate? Or is it configurable in some way?

    Donal,

I do not think it is configurable, but it depends on how many solenoid valves are connected to the ASCO 580 CHARM module. The valves will occuoy the last addresses of the CIOC. For example of there is 12 valves, it will be on address 8, if you have 24 valves it will occupy address 7 and 8. If more valves are included it will occupy more addresses up to 5-8 if there are 48 valves connected.

    Thanks,
