I have two DPTs transmitters on standby one for Card21 Port1, the order for Card 25 Port1. On proplus I started by trying to commission the one on Card 21 port 1. A dialogue box appears asking me to select from an empty list , the device to be commissioned. I clicked Refresh but no device appeared on the list. I tried severally yet no single device on the list. I restarted Proplus again same bad news. What is going on. Please HELP!!!
So . . . you are seeing them in DeltaV Diagnostics and they appear as "Standby" devices . .. correct? And they should also appear in DeltaV Explorer under the Controller\IO\Card\Port\Decomisssioned Devices location. I often have to hit "F5" here to get a new device to appear. (If not then other troubleshooting is perhaps needed) . . . and you are attempting to use the "right-click device placeholder > select Commission from context menu" to commission the device. For commissioning to work, the placeholder device has to precisely match the "Standby" device, including the revision level. If you can view the device in either Explorer or DeltaV Diagnostics you should be able to see the revision - try changing the revision of the placeholder to exactly match the revision of the Standby device.
