Phase Failed to Load on a particular unit instance through BOI phase control

Hi,

While trying to load a phase manually from BOI phase control (for only specific unit instance) , load failure occurs. It shows fail message as " the provided parameter binding is invalid, parameter not found ". Whereas if we try to load same phase through unit faceplate it starts well ; also it runs on another unit instances on BOI. Can anybody suggest a cause & solution for this.

Thanks,

Harshad

  • Harshad,

Have you have downloaded the problem Unit?
Is the problem Unit in the same controller as the Unit that runs from the BOI without issue? If not then download setup data in the controller the Unit that has the problem is assigned.

    Regards,
    Matt

Hi Matt, Thanks for the reply...
I tried downloading the affected unit as well as setup data for the respective controller but it didn't work. Problem Unit is in another controller than the unit for which phase loads. We also tried restarting the BOI, reassigning the phase to that unit.
    Thanks,

Does it still do the same thing after reassign in and restarting batch executive?
  • In reply to Matt Stoner:

Yes the issue is still there..

Check to make sure that the software revision of the controller is at the correct revision, other than that you may need to log a call with GSC as it would appear that the controller is the problem.

You could try to move the unit to another controller and do the downloads and see if that fixes the problem and verify if it is a controller problem.

    Hi Matt,
One other thing I tried around this , I copied phase class & assigned it on same unit & enabled it on the problem unit. Downloaded unit, phase & batch ex, now copied phase is loaded on batch ex & it runs as well. From this case, can we say controller might be the issue or its problem on batch ex ?

Have you tried making the problem phase disabled, downloaded the unit and batch executing and then re-enable the phase and download the unit and batch executive?

You could also temporarily move the unit to another controller and download to see if the phase would load and then put it back to the other controller if it does.

If it is running on another unit with the same batch executive, that seems to me to point to the controller.
