Retrieve audit trail directly from SQL

Is it possible to read the Audit Trail directly from SQL? Does someone have experience with retrieving big data from Audit trail.

Audit trail view is not an option.
In order to view and export to Excel you need to select all audit trail entries. Cumbersome and with the size (>50.000) of audit trail í'm facing impossible. The export function seems to stall.

The export functionality seems to stall.

  Are you asking about the AMS Device Manager Audit Trail or the DeltaV Version Control and Audit Trail (VCAT)?

  When you use VCAT on DeltaV, it's possible to read the tables or the views in the SQL.
  All datas can be export with Excel. Be carrefully with the version of Excel for the number of the lines...

  This question comes up occasionally for AMS Device Manager. While accessing SQL is possible, we strongly discourage this because we may change our database schema without notice and there are other things that you might inadvertently muck with.
  
  Instead we offer standard interfaces to access data in AMS Device Manager through web services, OPC, or generic export.
  
  How are you trying to export the data? Are you doing this directly from the AMS Device Manager application or one of our support utilities? If it appears the export is stalling, then I recommend you contact our Global Service Center for expert support.

  What version of DeltaV and/or AMS Device Manager are you working with? If you have AMS Device Manager 11.3 or greater, try to terminate the AMS services ( Start>All Programs>AMS Device Manager>Terminate Servers) and try the export again. Last Resort, try to reboot your AMS Server PC. If all else fails, call Global Service Center.
