SIS Module Assignment.

Hi,

I am working first time with SIS Environment.

On which basis I have to Assign Control modules to cards because in Process Automation System we assigned Control Module to node but here Assignment is different?

  First of all configuration of SIS systems is related to safety with the aim of saving process equipment, environmental quality and human lifes. So the configuror should have a solid knowledge on how to configure. SIS configuration is not just a hobby !!!
  But to answer your question with a question: Did you read the Books Online?
  Emerson supplies SIS configuration courses, which may be helpfull to get insight into this subject.

  If you are following IEC 61511 engineering and documentation standards, then should have a documented safety validation plan available. This should include guidelines on how to work with your SIS. I do strongly agree with Maarten, however, in suggesting you contact your local Emerson office and look into the DeltaV SIS Configuration course.
