I am having some error while establishing communication of PI station with DeltaV Application Station.
First we tried communication over DeltaV Control Network and receive an error message on OPC Watchit: "General Access Denied" 80070005.
Later we tried communication over Plant Lan of Application station (already used for HIMA OPC Communication in parallel) using Matrikon OPC on client side and receive the error message " OPC.DeltaV1 caused com/opc error 0x8004000 on IOPC.getstatus not implemented". Can any one help me out on this please.
Also is it possible to establish communication of OPC on ControlNetwork or it can only be achieved on Plant Lan.
My suggestion is to install the OPC client on the DeltaV Application Server (DeltaV OPC Server). I assume it is PI-OPC (DA) Interface based on your description.
If you are not able to do this, then the remote OPC Client system must also have installed the DeltaV OPCRemote application (which is on the DeltaV installers), if it does not have DeltaV already installed.
You should reference the article KB AP-0500-0023 (Connecting Remotely to DeltaV v7_2 and Later Through OPC) if you choose to use a remote OPC client.
If you are able to install the opc client on the dv opc server, ensure the client is set to run under the authority of a OS user that has link to deltav application user capable of reading /writing the parameters/fields for the areas in which the values reside. Typically, the user will have the operate key sitewide.
