I am doing a project at the moment to develop an energy usage monitoring interface using a Delta V system.
It will be used as part of an energy management system that will help determine the efficiency of electrical equipment.
The Idea is that the user would be able to monitor the energy consumption of the electrical equipment and make adjustments to provide better process control, for example pressure transmitters and variable speed drives etc.
What kind of a monitoring device should I be looking at getting to perform this task?

Since the measurements are usually scattered throughout the plant, this allows you to avoid the cost of wiring and get your project underway quickly so you can start enjoying the savings from your findings.
