New M Series Simplex Profibus DP I/O Interface with Termination Block

Hi,

Can anyone answer this for me I have a old 8 way carrier (VE4050S2K1C0) to which i want to add a new style M series simplex Profibus card (VE4022) are these two items compatible and is there a white papers to confirm this?

  • Short answer is yes. As far as some "document" to exactly mention this, I am having a hard time finding something. You can start with NK-1900-0938.

    The new card will work on the old carrier. Old card will work on the new carrier. By new style cards you mean the new color scheme IO cards? The repackaging of M-series IO is a rejuvenation of the brand. Kind of like Kellogg's Cornflake tag line, "Taste them again for the first time". With v14, M series controllers were updated to the same operating system as S-series and were enabled to support CHARM IO. So updating the look to an S-series color scheme also made sense. All the while, the underlying IO communication bus remains the same for all the local IO cards. There is even an adapter now to install M-series IO cards on S-series IO Carriers. M-series is new again.
