DeltaV OPC standby server in ERROR state as showing on DeltaV controller status

Hi,

I am facing issue in our redundant DeltaV OPC server (2 Application station ). The node APPS1 and its redundant is APPS1_S

APPS1 was restarted and as per failover, OPC shifted on APPS1_S successfully. After restart, DeltaV controller status on APPS1 is showing “ERROR LED”.

In diagnostic, APPS1 which is currently as standby showing following parameter,

We’ve tried to restart it many time but situation is same. APPS1 is accessible from PRO_PLUS station and getting PING reply on both primary and secondary connection.

Please share if anyone face the same issue and its possible rectification steps.

I can only suggest that you log a call with the GSC. This would start a structured approach to resolving this. I notice that you are running an older version of Windows, and therefore DeltaV. If you do not have Guardian Support, contact your local Emerson service provider for assistance.

The Error message indicates a problem with a DLL. Why is it no longer "found"? How did it become "Lost"? DLL's are usually installed along with programs and drivers. They can be altered by Windows Updates. They could be deleted along with an uninstall. They can be lost if the registry reference to the file is corrupted.

Have you installed or uninstalled any software since this App station last worked? Removing that software may not fix the issue if the Uninstall does not restore the DLL to its previous, working version. Many times, if a software installation causes problems with DLL's and other software, removing it does not fix the problem created. Re-installing the affected software can sometimes restore the DLL and the program to operational state. Without the understanding of how the DLL is used and by which programs, I cannot suggest any action.

If you wait for an answer on this forum, you may never get one from someone that has experienced this issue and you may get many suggestions that bear no fruit. If the solution is simple, re-installation of software would be overkill for sure. But if Time is of the essence, sometimes it is better to re-install. You don't get to the root cause, but you do restore operation. I strongly urge you to call the GSC.
