Equipment Module State - Selective Operator Access

I have a request to restrict certain states in an equipment module from standard operator login - requiring supervisor login to change to a particular state.  For instance, if my EM had 3 buttons, one of the three state selections, the third  button would appear grey or red circle slash requiring supervisor login.  Is this possible without breaking it from its class?
