Using a Vibrating Fork as a Densitometer in Mining

If you have a conversation with a miner about process control, sooner or later you will be asked "Do you know of any technology that can replace nuclear densitometers?" As is turns out, we have been able to replace some of these densitometers using a vibrating fork. It does not work on all applications, but has performed very well to measure concentrations of up to 65% with 95% particle size <1.0 and densities between 1.0 and 2.5 g/cm3. We are continuing to refine this application.
