Managing Data Through the Product Lifecycle

What words do we use when we talk about and manage different sets of data? How does this vocabulary change as a product moves through the lifecycle? How do we create an ontology to make data useful and relevant? How can the S-88 framework be applied?

Recently I talked with Jim Cahill about the Life Sciences Symposium, where Emerson and many pharmaceutical manufacturers are working together to tackle some of the challenges of managing data through the product lifecycle. Not only is it important to reduce patient risks, but also to improve efficiencies in our industry’s ability to get medicines to market.

To see what we were talking about at the Symposium, how it might affect your processes, and maybe even get some ideas, read Jim’s blog.  http://www.emersonprocessxperts.com/2015/05/advancing-the-management-of-data-through-life-sciences-product-lifecycles/

More importantly, I’m curious how you’re tackling this challenge with your product lifecycles and where you’re seeing the largest challenges/gaps.
