Yesterday’s DCS systems may have been a good investment, but today’s technology provides opportunities and benefits previously unavailable. Modernisation should be considered when extensions or data exchange are needed, if there is disappearing knowledge of existing system or repair time/cost has become unacceptable. This presentation describes how Emerson can help to define and justify a migration path based on the business and production perspectives, allowing a phased migration to eliminate risk and make the project manageable within a short switchover period.
