Session Abstract
Asset management efforts during recent years have strongly focused on field devices and process equipment. Once again, the DCS system plays a key role, providing the necessary communication to field devices and related process information. The very DCS system itself however - silent engine behind asset management initiatives and key element of the automation infrastructure – seems to have escaped attention of asset managers. With DCS availability requirements reaching unparalleled heights and a continuously shrinking workforce, DCS system health can no longer be excluded from critical asset management.
