Radar type 3300

Dear sir,

please help me in below issue:

"i have 3 radar transmitters (LT-32021,32022,32023)mounting on 3 LPG bullet. I access on it by using RCT software to get full configuration data and the plot.

the problem at the second (LT-32022) is when level reaches to zero(zero level at transmitter), it is still approx. 2 hour on this reading and after that LSL of the bullet is triggered.

and when the bullet is start filling, there is no level appeared untill waiting also two hours. At the other hand, when comparing the parameters of the three transmitters, found Near zero end=0 only for the second and for the two is 1.3 m.

please review the data and plots at the link below to guide me what is the problem and if there is problem in the other or not.....

  • does the problem exist when at the second radar the near zero end is also set to something other than 0?
  • In reply to Gerard van Boven:

It can't change by RCT as it is factory set setting.as i want to change it to become also 1.3m.is this the reason of my problem...

  • Dear Hashem,
The units you refer to are of two different revisions (LT32022 was delivered after 2009 while the other two were delivered 2003 or earlier). The full tank detection function differ slighlty between the two versions - hence the difference in settings.
In order to give you our best recommendations, we need some further details regarding the problem that you experience as the plots enclosed does not show any erratic behaviour. If I understand you correctly, the radar stay in "empty tank" until the liquid reach a certain level. Please confirm.
-Did this happen after some time in operation or have you always seen this behaviour?
-Did you change the process or media prior to this erratic behavior?
-Does this happen during every filling?
-Does the level always recover at the same level?
-Do you have any plots from the unit, taken while it is in the "empty state" despite that there is liquid in the vessel? In such case; I would very much appreciate if you could provide us with it.
Looking forward your reply and to assist you further with the matter!
    Kind regards,

If I understand you correctly, the radar stay in "empty tank" until the liquid reach a certain level. Please confirm. There is a LSLL mounted on the bullet.when tank becomes empty (level transmitter reads zero, the LSLL doesn't trigger except after 2 hours from transmitter reading and the same at filling process. when filling, the level transmitter sense the level after 2 hours from starting.
-Did this happen after some time in operation or have you always seen this behavior?always seen this behavior.
-Did you change the process or media prior to this erratic behavior?NO
-Does this happen during every filling?YES
-Does the level always recover at the same level? LPG bullet fill untill Approximately 80%
-Do you have any plots from the unit, taken while it is in the "empty state" despite that there is liquid in the vessel? In such case; I would very much appreciate if you could provide us with it.
Rhe plot that sent is when there is a level in bullet but i don't have any plot for empty state.
please find below P& ID drawing for the three bullet.

    Dear Hashem,
There can be several reasons for this problem. The most common reason is that the surface reflection is weak at the bottom - for instance due to heavy turbulence when you start the filling. If the surface threshold then is set a bit too low, the radar will be unable to pick the signal up until it become stronger than the threshold. With plots taken during low level /when you experience the problem, we will be able to determine the root cause and recommend proper actions. Where is this site located? Have you been in contact with the Emerson "level" organization in your world area?
    Best regards,
    Ingemar

Please note that the transmitter is previously reading well without any problem with the existing conditions. But this problem occurs suddenly, So i think that the transmitter need to be replaced???. At next week also i will send to you a plot with empty tank.
