After testing some wells, results are bad.

The issue is the density measurement- (going below reference density of Oil) and that is impacting WC calculations.

Typically, Coriolis (CMF300) showing density below oil reference as highlighted below usually indicates entrained gas and or process upset.

If the core processor is not powering on (i.e. no LED lights), even with a new transmitter, then I suspect bad wiring from the transmitter, or a bad core processor. Replacing the core processor would be step 1. However, if the core was damaged due to a power surge that damaged the original transmitter, there may be other issues with the sensor. Since you're removing the core processor anyway, I'd recommend taking resistance measurements from the feedthrough pins underneath to confirm continuity in the drive, pickoff, and RTD circuits. Please refer to Sections 17.15 and 17.36 of the 2700 Config & Use Manual: www.emerson.com/.../manuals-guides-5700-transmitters-configurable-outputs-micro-motion-en-66514.pdf.
We encountered frequent alarms on a CMF300 with a recently replaced TX from 2700 series to a more modern 5700 series.

It was reported that weeks before the transmitter replacements on the CMF300 sensor, this alarm was long observed and not acknowledged.

However, after the replacement of the 2700 transmitter with a 5700 transmitter on the same CMF300, the alarm error message was found to still persists. [026 - Sensor Comm. Fail]

On recycle and power on, the core processor LED remains OFF instead of being ON.

it appears the coriolis sensor is not communicating with the transmitter.

Further troubleshooting showed communication from the transmitter to SCADA is okay.

Simulation results are also good.

My Suspicion is on the core processor which i think could be faulty. what do you guys think?

Advice if this issue is only about the core processor which needs to be replaced.

Flow application - Annubar Flowmeter 3051CFA - Guidance for Configuration and Field Calibration

Team,

Many thanks in advance for your valuable feedback. We have many flowmeters already installed in Anti-surge Loop for Centrifugal Compressor (installed at suction side).

Before ordering these flowmeter, Process conditions (Flow rates, pressure and temperature had been delivered to manufacturer). Besides that, Fluid data also has been shared to manufacturer like: Fluid type, Density at operating base, Specific gravity, Compressibility at operating base, Molecular Weight, Isentropic exponent, Operating viscosity.

In summary, flowmeters are selected according to Engineering design.

Annubar Flowmeter: 3051CFADG300ZCHFS3A3D0072AA1P1V1V2QC7Q8J3G2

Related to Annubar hardware assembly information:

Flowmeter and meter type: 3051CFA - Annubar flowmeter flanged with opposite side support

Sensor size and material: 3 - 316 stainless steel

Line size: 750 mm (30 in) - Schedule: XS - Material: Carbon Steel (A105)

ID (span): 736.6 mm - Wall: 12.7 mm

Pipe orientation: Horizontal

Connection type: 300#RF ASME B16.5

Mounting type and material: 300#RF ASME B16.5

My Questions are focused on configuration and field calibration or verification:

What are the main considerations to properly configure this flowmeter? Do I should set up the pipe diameter, pipe wall and flow type (methane gas) in the flowmeter configuration?

What tool is needed to configure the flowmeter? At site we have the Trex communicator and realized that basic configuration has been seen and retrieved. Is this the only option or is there a software tool that can be used to configure this flowmeter and have the chance to see more technical information related to the Primary element (Annubar) as well?

How do we know if the Annubar sensing ports are starting to clog?

Yes, the configuration information (we call it a flow sizing) should be included in the paperwork/documentation provided with the instrument. The transmitter itself does not contain the information, rather it is calculated using Emerson's DP Flow Product Advisor (www.emerson.com/.../dp-flow-sizing-selection-tool) and then the calculation results input into the transmitter for the scaled variable output. If you do not have easy access to the documentation, you may will be able to get a copy from your sales representative or by looking up the serial number on MyEmerson (look under "My Assets" and enter the serial number, you may have to register if not already a user). If neither of those options are available to you, you can email me at dan.cychosz@emerson.com with the serial number or order number.

You're correct on the verification (we don't recommend field calibration unless absolutely necessary or the instrument is found to be well out of range during verification) and zero trim are the same as you would do for a standard 3051CD instrument.

Hope this helps, don't hesitate to reach out for further questions.

Regards,

Thank you so much for your valuable feedback, really appreciate it. Just to highlight these points, when you said "The 3051CFA will be configured from the factory based on the parameters that you provided during the quotation stage", Is it a chance to see this configuration like Fluid type, Line size, Pipe orientation, ID and Wall, Sensor size ??? By using the TREX, I have not found this information, just a basic information and configuration were retrieved.
Regarding the sentence "There is very little technical information saved in the transmitter for this model" you mean that, as a final user for the I&C team, information stored in Flowmeter is limited when trying to retrieved information with TREX.
Finally, for the 3051CFA calibration or verification, Zero trim and Upper trim (span) can be done like if it were the commonly used 3051CD differential pressure transmitter for flow application.
Good point for the recommended 3051SFA for future considerations.
Thank you Dan again for this final feedback. I am so grateful for this support!

Kind regards,

The 3051CFA will be configured from the factory based on the parameters that you provided during the quotation stage. There should be limited setup required during installation unless you need to change the measurement span, and a zero trim should always be performed upon final installation. Both of these actions can be done with the TREX, but if you are more comfortable with a laptop and HART modem then you can use the AMS device configurator for the 3051C transmitter (www.emerson.com/.../ams-device-configurator).

There is very little technical information saved in the transmitter for this model, if you desire online flow compensation with temperature and pressure you could consider the 3051SFA (www.emerson.com/.../rosemount-sku-3051sfa-annubar-flow-meter). For surge control applications, you may also want to consider the recently introduced 4051SFA (www.emerson.com/.../rosemount-sku-4051sfa-annubar-flow-meter) which is available with a fast time response of <50 milliseconds.

Plugging/clogging is rare for the Annubar due to the slot design. However, the 3051CFA can be ordered with option code DA1 which includes a plugged line diagnostic that will provide an alert if plugging is detected in the instrument.

If you wish to use the on-board 232 port, I'd suggest going the User Program route. The User Program will allow you to select which comm port you want to configure the Modbus polls for, so you will be able to select the on-board 232. Here is a link to the manual for this program. Please note that you will need to order the program AND the license key to unlock it.

www.emerson.com/.../gas-chromatograph-software-interface-manual-en-133142.pdf

The other option I spoke of was using the GC 485-App module. The app module is the exact same thing as the User Program, it's just a canned solution within a module that can be inserted into any open slot. The only limitation is that the module only comes with a 485 port (this is physically on the module so it will not consume any open ports available on the system).

You will need to use the GC Interface User Program or GC 485-Application Module (with a 232 to 485 converter) for this application. The programs have features to auto-map all GC registers and to do validity checking on the data. One of the checks performed is to see if the GC is in calibration mode. If it is, the program will not push the values into measurement. It will use the last known-good update until the calibration flag has been cleared and a new set of data has been polled from the GC.

RE: Configuration of GC with Floboss 107 without using Application module APP485

did you resolve this problem, can we connect 470xa through rs232 port

Configuration of GC with Floboss 107 without using Application module APP485

I am communicating with GC 370XA using serial link with the FB107. Communication is healthy. I am not using any application module to do configuration of GC in FB107.

I defined the registers manually in the GC and read those registers in the FB107.

Please guide me about following

how FB107 will take the value from GC

Component ID numbers, how to define the numbers. Should i take same numbers which i defined in GC register table MAP file.

I am going through the manual but the manual A6270 mostly talks about the application module which i am not using for communication.

I am communicating on COMM2 of CPU (FB107) serial link

If i change gas composition manually in the attached meter setup my value of specific gravity and Btu changes, why is it so? This table is supposed to take the value when i have selected Constant specific gravity value.

We carried out the dry calibration factory test of 3418, 8 path 24 inch ultrasonic flow meter and attached are the results of its zero flow verification by individual paths. As per AGA 9 2022, section 4.6.3, the individual path gas velocity shall not be greater than 0.02 ft/sec. Here as can be seen that two paths are outside this limit.
