RFT9739 Temperature Terminals

I have a CMF050 Sensor hooked up to an RFT9739 Transmitter. I'm transmitting the analog (non-HART installation) PV (mass flow) and SV (density) from the respective output terminals and am interested in getting the temperature from the CMF050 as well. The RFT9739 has output terminals labeled for temperature (23 & 24). Are these output terminals associated with the connected sensor, internal electronics or are they some other temperature? Also, is this temperature signal RTD-analog or 4-20mA? I'm not finding much in the documentation that explains the purpose of the temperature output terminals. My work around for this is to disconnect the violet-yellow-orange RTD wires from the RFT9739 altogether and extend them directly to an RTD IO card.

  • Hi - Terminals 23, 24 and 25 were used with the old density peripherals like DMS and FMS grey boxes. Terminal 23 is the common return. If your PLS can accept a voltage signal, and if it can interpret it as changing by 20mV per degrees C referenced to zero volts at zero degrees C, then you can use those terminals as a temperature output voltage signal.

    Thank you,

Hi - There is correction to the previous reply. It should be 5mV/*C instead of 20 mV.

    Thank you,
