How to fix point "being edited by another user" on unknown node

I am an IT support person asked to help a manager change the scaling on a DeltaV point  I showed him how to go into Delta V explorer and find the point and how values can be changed but somehow we exited incorrectly.  Now when we want to make a real change to that point, we can't. Eeverything we try under Version Control - check in, check out, rollback - all comes back with an error saying the point is being edited by another user.  This workstation is the only place where we can make changes to points.  The history shows the point was last accessed at the time we exited incorrectly so that must be what has locked the point.   Is there any way to get the lock removed from the point?  I am only an IT support person with very little training and experience with DeltaV.  The facility is partly shut down and all the regular process control technicians have left.  Please let me know if other information is required in order to provide an answer.  Thanks.

  Try to go to Database Administrator , then Database Connections. Look for the session that you may have used that was closed incorrectly, then disconnect.

  Yes, and eventually, stop then run again the Database (file menu).
  If a phantom user is present, a windows will appear to ask you if you want to disconnect all active users
